Dinner rolls are good to go with stew or curries or even stuff with your favorites. It’s easy to make ahead for party/working days. Try this recipe…
Dry active yeast-1tsp
Egg-2 (room temp) (+1 for brushing)
Note:- Makes about 10-12 rolls.
To the warm milk add sugar & yeast, keep it aside for 10 mins.
In a large bowl cream the butter and egg.
Add the dry ingredients flour and salt (whisked together).
Bring into soft wet dough.
Grease the bowl and place the dough covered in oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and keep in a warm place for fermentation about 3hrs. (I kept in preheated oven, heated at 200 F for 10 mins & with lights ON.)
Transfer the dough to the floured surface & slightly knead.
Divide the dough & ball them in a medium size onion.
Place the kneaded balls to the buttered baking tray and again ferment for about 45mins.
Take the tray back and brush the balls with beaten egg.
Bake at 375 F for 20mins (till nice brown color on top).
Brush little butter on top of the hot dinner rolls for the soft crust.
